MELISSA LOVETT
Melissa studied Mathematics at Merton College, Oxford University before becoming an actress. She joined Pandora's Box in 2003, and has acted in nearly all of the company's shows since then; a particular highlight for her was taking the title role in Katrina The Smallest Christmas Tree (which was written with her in mind) at the Jackson's Lane Arts Centre in Highgate in 2005. She now handles all of the financial side of Pandora's Box (which mainly involves doing sums and asking Rob and Colin for receipts), as well as acting in Burglar Bill, Pirate School and Stumble.
For the last three years she also co-ran the walkabout street theatre company The Pirate Fairies who performed at music festivals including Glastonbury, Guilfest, Latitude and Bestival, community festivals, the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe Festivals, and live music nights in London.
Previous roles for other companies have included Mephistophilis in Doctor Faustus, Katherine in Henry V (both at the Tower of London), the lead in the national tour of Inner Space/Outer Space (a new play by award-winning writer Cathy Turner) and independent British film productions. Her corporate work has featured shows at the London Dungeon, Thorpe Park Theme Park and The Millennium Dome.
