PANDORA'S BOX THEATRE IN SCHOOLS
The function of a Pandora's Box Theatre Company show is primarily to entertain, stimulate imaginations and give younger children a theatrical experience that they will never forget (in some cases their first exposure to theatre). Having said that, we always try to select our theatre projects carefully to ensure that the young audience will not only have lots of fun, but at the same time offer them new opportunities to learn information and develop new skills.
WORKSHOPS
We also offer schools the chance of holding a drama workshop after a performance
that is linked to the story and themes raised in the show. It is an ideal way to
bring drama into the curriculum, relating it to the stimulating experiences the
children had whilst watching the show. All our actors are also experienced
workshop leaders and we devise our workshops to give the pupils a lot of fun
while stretching their imaginations.

BURGLAR BILL
by Janet and Allan Ahlberg has been a popular book for both children and
teachers at infant and primary schools since 1977 when it was first
published. After children have read the book with their teachers or
classroom assistants, the theatre show brings the colourful characters from
the book to life and at the same time it entertains the young audience with
music and comedy.
The show also sends an important social message to young children about
crime awareness. The original book touched on the lesson in life that crime
does not pay, but Pandora's Box Theatre Company have explored this theme
further. In today's society, young children need to learn at an early age
that burglary is illegal and anti-social and in this adaptation, the
audience come to this realisation alongside BURGLAR BILL.
BURGLAR BILL
WORKSHOPS
These linked workshops explore the themes in the show of good versus bad,
the morality of stealing from others and the role of the police force.

PIRATE SCHOOL is
an original theatre show for children aged 4 to 9 and Pandora's Box are
touring this show from April 2006 to theatres, arts centres and schools We
always try to find new ways to educate young minds and with Pirate School
there are plenty of opportunities for us to explore unchartered territory
with the captive audience of young children. At the same time, we will be
attempting to introduce to them a sense of past and a glimpse at the history
of sailors, pirates, ships and nautical matters in the UK and beyond.
PIRATE SCHOOL WORKSHOPS As part of their nautical theatrical
experience we also offer a lively games based Pirate School workshop in
addition to the show itself. The children will take part in various
energetic and exiting games. On top of all the running around the
children will also be asked to use their imaginations and acting skills to
create scenes from the magical island that they will create within the workshop and
they'll get a chance to meet some of the weird and wonderful creatures who
inhabit the island. |
